Knee & Joint Pain

Knee and Joint Pain Support in Burnaby

Knee and joint pain can affect stairs, work, sport, and everyday movement. Phoenix Rehab helps you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and build a coordinated care plan around your goals.

Understanding Knee and Joint Pain

Joint pain can start after a strain, fall, workout, work demand, or gradual change in activity. It may affect the knee, hip, ankle, or other joints, and can show up as pain, stiffness, swelling, weakness, or hesitation to load the area.

At Phoenix Rehab in Burnaby, physiotherapy and kinesiology lead the plan for most knee and joint concerns. Chiropractic, massage therapy, or acupuncture may be added when appropriate, so your care supports movement, strength, and daily function without forcing every patient into the same pathway.

Common Reasons Patients Ask About Joint Pain Care

Knee pain with stairs, squats, kneeling, walking, or running
Hip, ankle, or other joint pain that affects daily movement
Stiffness after sitting, waking up, or returning to activity
Pain after sport, exercise, lifting, a fall, or a work demand

Knee and Joint Pain FAQs

Do I need a diagnosis before booking for knee or joint pain?
No. You can book an assessment first. If your symptoms suggest that imaging, medical testing, or physician follow-up is needed, your practitioner will guide you on next steps.
Is this page only for knee pain?
No. Knee pain is the main focus here, but we also cover related joint concerns such as hip, ankle, and activity-related joint pain.
What if I have swelling, instability, or cannot put weight on the joint?
New major swelling, severe pain, fever, redness, loss of strength, or inability to bear weight should be assessed promptly by urgent care, a physician, or emergency services. Routine rehab is appropriate after urgent issues are ruled out or when symptoms are stable.
Will I need more than one service?
Not always. Many patients start with physiotherapy or kinesiology. Other services are added only when they match the assessment, goals, and comfort level.
